Community Integration
Over the past several years, NYCC has established chiropractic internships at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. NYCC was the first college to offer chiropractic services in the VA Healthcare System – establishing an internship program at the VA hospital in Buffalo, New York. Additional relationships include Monroe Community Hospital – and affiliate of the University of Rochester Medical School – and the associated health centers of the State University of New York system located in Buffalo and Farmingdale. In addition to these opportunities, NYCC operates three of its own health centers – in Depew, New York, near Buffalo; in Levittown, New York on Long Island; and one that’s literally in our own backyard on the site of our Seneca Falls, New York campus. Here students enjoy full-year opportunities to observe and learn, first-hand, how well-respected experts from diverse fields treat a wide variety of health concerns. These centers also provide a valuable resource to their communities, blending chiropractic and related therapies into integrative care for health and wellness. Through this outreach, NYCC becomes a vital part of the community fabric and a local leader in healthcare services. |
