Chiropractic Summit Encourages Free Medicare Documentation Webinar

As a result of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Inspector General (OIG) report (2005) indicating substantial documentation errors and omissions in chiropractic Medicare claims, the four organizations comprising the Chiropractic Summit Steering Committee (ACC, COCSA, ACA and ICA) are cooperating to combine ideas and resources to improve the clinical documentation of doctors of chiropractic and the overall climate for federal chiropractic claims.

Recognizing the threat poor documentation poses to the chiropractic profession, the Chiropractic Summit Steering Committee urges all US chiropractic organizations to link their individual association webpages with the new “Proper Medicare Documentation” webinar. This training webinar will provide doctors of chiropractic with tools and information for improving Medicare documentation in their individual practices.

This comprehensive online education program was developed by recognized Medicare expert Susan McClelland, BS, CCA, FICC (hc), in partnership with the ACA, and is endorsed by ICA, COCSA and the Association of Chiropractic Colleges.

All members of the profession are encouraged to access the Proper Medicare Documentation webinar at http://www.acatoday.org/online.
