You May Qualify to Participate in This Study if You:

1. Are at least 18 years of age
2. Have had lower back pain for more than 3 months
3. Have not seen a chiropractor or physical therapist in the last 6 months
4. Have not had back surgery in the past 6 months
5. Live within 50 miles of Rochester

Requirements: 

1. Phone screen interview
2. Prescreen/physical examination at Monroe Community Hospital
3. 50/50 chance of receiving Active Exercise Therapy or Spinal Manipulative Therapy
4. 8 treatment sessions in Greece or Fairport at no cost
5. 6-month follow-up
